MONTHLY NEWSLETTER FOR FEBRUARY
PRICE INCREASE
Hi everyone I just wanted to say hello and let you know that were off to good start last year was really successful,ÿý All I can say is without great clients like you, I wouldn't have a business.ÿý I just want apologize about the one dollar increase, but with the rising cost of materials, business insurance, and gasoline these Items are a majority of the high cost that I pay out.ÿý I will give my word to all that no price increases for the next two years are planned.ÿý We have raised the prices on all new customers; this began on 1 January, 2004.ÿý They will pay an average $2.50 hire than what you were paying originally.ÿý This will allow continuation of good consistent service with quality materials.
GET READY FOR SPRING
Just some reminders February is here spring is almost around the corner so it?s a good time to start looking around the house and checking for desirable places that bugs might consider a habitat, any items that are against the exterior of the house should be moved and placed in proper storage this prevent harborage for water bugs, spiders, and scorpions and other assorted pests.ÿý If you must have these items outside please leave a fair 12 inches away from exterior wall so I may do proper treatment.ÿý Also check for Firewood placed against the structure this is a major harborage.ÿý If firewood is against the wall and placed on the ground, you should move it away from your structure and place it up on outdoor firewood stand,ÿýÿý You can easily make one with bricks or cinder blocks, Should ensure that it is hirer than 6 inches and clear underneath so I may treat these areas and rest a couple or 2x4?s across for support and (Walla presto chango) instant firewood stand.
Another area to look at is your window screens.ÿý Window screens are an easy access to pest like flies, moths the get attracted to the lights when they are on at night so tight fitting screens help resolve these situations.ÿý Another area is to check door seals, Garage seals and window seals,ÿý this plays an important roll in reducing the amount of pest that may try to enter your home,ÿý The hardware store has an abundance of these and they fairly easy to install.ÿý Seals on doors and windows and garages do wear down after time and being here in El Paso, The weather plays havoc especially during the hot months.
In ground sprinklers heads and faucets should be check nothing like having open bar for all the insects water is a great attraction to thirsty bunch of crawling and flying critters.ÿý Plus with the price of water you want to save as much as you can.ÿý And if you didn't do any caulking or sealing in the fall now is a good time to start sealing around window ledges and doors so the bugs don't have a way to enter or a place to hide.
APPOINTED PRESIDENT
As of December 2003 I became the President of the Greater El Paso Pest Control Association, this is my third year as a member and have been attending meetings and training provided by the association.ÿý I was selected on the basis of my involvement in helping the association attain higher goals so I have welcomed being appointed to such a position to help further improve the pest control industry in our corner of Texas.
PRODUCTS
New products page has been updated most items are for commercial use but there is one item listed that be helpful to home owners I plan to receive a couple miniature fly traps so I may show around cost has not been determined yet but with the fly activity in El Paso any item will be useful.ÿý Coming in March and April, I will be applying a special insecticide this will hopefully give us a 6 month of protection against ants.ÿý The goal of the pesticide will be to prevent entry of all ants into the structures will it stop them from accessing structures? Most likely, the data I have reviewed about the material to be used is has stated 100% efficacy on various species of ants.ÿý Will the pesticide eliminate all ants on the property? I am not going to say yes but from reports I have had from vendors and colleagues, is that it has helped a lot.
